Support
From connection to playback. Get started with ease.
Connect your media server
- Have your authorized server address and login details ready, and check that your Mac can reach the server.
- Add the matching media source in the app. Jellyfin supports password login or Quick Connect; Emby supports password login or Emby Connect.
- Select a library and open a film. Browsing, favorites, and progress reporting depend on the source.
Network shares and local files
WebDAV requires a reachable remote directory and credentials. SMB connects network shares using SMB2 / SMB3; make sure the share and network are available. Open local videos individually or add a folder.
Having trouble playing a video?
Check that the server or shared directory is reachable, then verify system support for the video codec and audio track. Try server transcoding if available. External subtitles must be accessible alongside the video; online subtitle search requires a Jellyfin server that supports it. Local files and network shares can’t be transcoded; formats that can’t be played natively show an unsupported message.
For more details, read the Compatibility guide.
Subscription and purchases
- When you first open Vetrera, start the 3-day free trial or choose a plan. The trial applies to subscriptions and is available once per Apple Account.
- Sign in to the App Store with the same Apple Account, open Vetrera, and choose Restore purchases. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account and are not shared through Family Sharing.
- Open the App Store on your Mac, click your name, then Account Settings › Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next renewal. Deleting Vetrera does not cancel a subscription.
- Purchases are processed by Apple, so refund requests go to Apple under its policies: reportaproblem.apple.com.
