VETRERA / LEGAL

Privacy Policy

Keepdoit Development LLC, a company organized in Wyoming, United States (“we,” “us,” or “our”), provides Vetrera and its official product website. This policy explains how information is handled when you use Vetrera applications, visit our website, or contact us. Features, permissions, and storage mechanisms vary by platform and version.

At a glance. Vetrera stores your library settings and connection details on your device. Using a media source or an optional online service sends requests to that service. We do not use advertising or analytics services, sell personal information, or automatically upload the app’s local playback diagnostic files to us. If you opt in to share analytics with app developers in your Apple device settings, Apple may provide us with crash reports and aggregated usage statistics.

1. Information on your device

The app stores information needed to remember your setup and resume playback, including server addresses, account identifiers and display names, media-source paths, library indexes, recent items, playback progress, and preferences. Playback and artwork may create local caches. Playback caches can contain media bytes; they are not an offline-download service.

Connection secrets are stored locally to let you reconnect to saved sources. In the current macOS app, saved passwords, access tokens, and other secrets are stored in encrypted form within the app’s sandboxed storage. This protects them from casual inspection but not from someone who already has access to your operating-system account.

Opening a file or adding a local folder gives the app access to the items you authorize. Where supported, the app may retain the operating system’s authorization to reopen them, such as a security-scoped bookmark on macOS. Local-network access is used to connect to your devices and, when requested, discover compatible network shares (for example via Bonjour).

2. Media sources and optional services

When you connect a media server, WebDAV server, or network share, Vetrera communicates with the endpoint you select. That endpoint can receive your IP address, authentication information, media requests, and supported playback-progress updates. Its operator controls its own records and privacy practices. Removing a source in Vetrera does not erase records held by that operator.

Emby Connect and Plex sign-in can contact their respective online authentication services before connecting to a selected server. Artwork, library details, streams, and subtitles may be retrieved from URLs supplied by your media source.

Online subtitle search, where available, is requested from your connected Jellyfin server, which queries the subtitle providers its administrator has configured. Vetrera does not contact subtitle providers directly and does not send them your media or files. You can use local or embedded subtitles without using online subtitle search.

These services have their own terms and privacy policies, including Emby and Plex. Jellyfin servers, WebDAV servers, and network shares are operated by you or another provider, whose own practices apply.

Vetrera Pro is sold through Apple’s App Store as subscriptions with a free trial and as a one-time lifetime purchase. Apple processes payments and trials; we do not receive your payment-card details, and Vetrera has no separate user account. The app uses StoreKit to check purchase status and trial eligibility and keeps the resulting access status on your device. Apple provides us with sales and subscription reports that do not identify you personally. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.

3. Diagnostics and support

Where local playback diagnostics are available, the app keeps limited, rotating records on your device, such as event timestamps and numerical performance measurements. These diagnostic files are not automatically sent to us. Your operating system may separately retain system logs under its own settings.

If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your Apple device settings, Apple may provide us with crash reports and aggregated usage statistics under Apple’s terms. We use them only to fix problems and improve the app. You can turn this off at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer your request and investigate the issue. Review screenshots and logs before sending them, and do not send passwords, access tokens, or private media links.

4. Our website

Our product website is hosted on a VPS we operate. It has no account registration, advertising, analytics service, or payment form. It uses browser local storage to remember your language and theme; you can remove those preferences by clearing site data.

Serving and securing the site involves processing technical connection information. Depending on the server configuration, access or security logs may record an IP address, request time and path, browser information, and response status. Such records are used for operation, troubleshooting, and security, rather than behavioral advertising.

The website does not load fonts, scripts, or other resources from third-party servers. Following an external link is subject to that site’s own practices.

5. Storage, retention, and deletion

Local settings and library records remain until changed or removed. Temporary files and caches may be evicted by the app or operating system. The controls available depend on your platform and version. Where offered, they have the following purposes:

These controls do not constitute a single “delete all data” operation. Copies in device backups, system logs, or third-party systems have separate retention rules. Contact us if you need help locating remaining local app data.

We retain support correspondence and any website operational records only for as long as reasonably needed for their purpose, security, legal obligations, or resolving a dispute. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, subject to those requirements.

6. Disclosure, security, and international access

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Infrastructure and email providers may process information necessary to host the site or deliver support correspondence. We may disclose information when required by applicable law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security threats, or legal claims.

We use reasonable safeguards, but no storage or network connection is completely secure. If you choose an unencrypted server connection or disable certificate verification, information sent over that connection has reduced protection.

We are based in the United States. Website infrastructure, email services, and third-party services you choose may process information in other countries. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we apply them.

7. Your choices and privacy rights

You can manage connections, remove local records, choose whether to use online services, and manage permissions in your device’s system settings. We cannot remotely erase records stored only on your device or records controlled by your media provider.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information we hold, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also have a right to complain to your privacy regulator or appeal a request decision. Email us to exercise an applicable right. We may reasonably verify your identity and will respond within the period required by applicable law, without unlawful discrimination.

Where a legal basis is required, we process information to provide requested functionality or support, for legitimate interests in operating and securing the service where permitted, to comply with legal obligations, or with consent where required.

8. Children and policy updates

Vetrera is a general-purpose media player and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent us personal information can contact us, and we will delete it where appropriate.

We will update the date above when this policy changes and provide additional notice of material changes where appropriate or required by law. New purposes that require consent will be presented separately.
